The Predictors

Cedric Coward drilled two clutch 3-pointers down the stretch and finished with 21 points as the Memphis Grizzlies closed the game on a 13-0 run to edge the Brooklyn Nets 103-98 on Sunday.

Jock Landale chipped in 16 points and nine rebounds, and Santi Aldama added 15 points and eight boards for Memphis. Cam Spencer recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists in the Grizzlies’ final game before their upcoming two-game international series against Orlando in Berlin and London.

Brooklyn was led by Noah Clowney and Tyrese Martin, who scored 17 points apiece. Martin was highly efficient, going 6 of 8 from the field and 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. Danny Wolf and Jalen Wilson each added 11 points, with Wolf also pulling down 10 rebounds.

The Nets appeared in control late, taking a 98-90 lead with three minutes remaining after Clowney split a pair of free throws. Memphis responded with a decisive surge, scoring the final 13 points of the game. Coward’s second late 3-pointer put the Grizzlies ahead 101-98 with just under a minute to play, sealing the comeback.

Memphis bounced back after letting a 21-point second-half lead slip away in a loss to Oklahoma City on Friday. The Grizzlies built a 16-point advantage in the first half and led 61-50 at the break, though Brooklyn erased the gap early in the second half with a 17-6 run to tie the game at 67.

The Nets were without Michael Porter Jr., who sat out for rest as Brooklyn navigates a grueling stretch of 17 games this month. Sunday also marked the first night of a road back-to-back for Brooklyn.

Free throws were a point of contention early, as the Nets attempted just five in the first half compared to 14 for Memphis, drawing repeated protests from Brooklyn coach Jordi Fernández.

Up next, the Nets visit Dallas on Monday night. The Grizzlies head overseas to face Orlando on Thursday in Berlin and again Sunday in London.
