CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert combined for 58 points against their former team as the Hawks rolled past the Wizards on Thursday night.
Kispert erupted for a career-high 33 points, scoring 22 in the first half after entering midway through the first quarter and knocking down five straight 3-pointers. He finished 6 of 11 from deep. McCollum added 25 points, six rebounds and three assists, punctuating the first half with a 27-foot 3-pointer and free throw that sent Atlanta into the break ahead 75-56.
The win came in the second game of a two-game home set against Washington, the team that acquired Trae Young in January in exchange for McCollum and Kispert. Dyson Daniels contributed 13 points, 11 assists and five steals as Atlanta controlled the game throughout.
Will Riley and Tre Johnson led Washington with 14 points apiece. The Wizards were without Anthony Davis and Young due to injuries.
Jonathan Kuminga and Zaccharie Risacher started for Atlanta in place of All-Star Jalen Johnson (hip) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (foot).
