Tyler Herro scored 25 points and Bam Adebayo added 21 to lead the Miami Heat to a 126–110 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night, extending Brooklyn’s losing streak to 10 games.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. finished with 18 points for Miami (34–29), which has won six of its last eight games and moved five games above .500 for the first time since the opening week of December. Pelle Larsson and Kel'el Ware each scored 16 points off the bench, with Ware adding 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots in an impressive all-around performance.
The victory also came on March 5 — known locally as “305 Day,” a reference to Miami’s primary area code — and improved the Heat to 15–5 all-time on that date, the best mark of any active NBA franchise.
Michael Porter Jr. led Brooklyn with 27 points. Noah Clowney added 17, Nic Claxton scored 16 and Ziaire Williams finished with 15 for the Nets, who also lost in Miami earlier in the week.
Brooklyn briefly grabbed the lead in the third quarter, but Miami took control in the second half, outscoring the Nets by a wide margin as part of a 66-point half. The Heat shot 53% from the field and dominated bench production with a 54–34 advantage.
The Nets became the sixth team this season to endure a losing streak of at least 10 games, joining the Sacramento Kings (16), Washington Wizards (14), Indiana Pacers (13), Chicago Bulls (11) and Dallas Mavericks (10). It is Brooklyn’s longest skid since the 2021–22 season, when the team dropped 11 straight.
Miami played without Norman Powell (right groin strain), Nikola Jović (lower back) and Simone Fontecchio (left groin strain). Brooklyn was also short-handed, with rookie Egor Demin missing his third consecutive game due to a left plantar fascia injury.
Up next: The Nets visit the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, while the Heat travel to face the Charlotte Hornets on Friday.
