Devin Carter erupted for 22 of his career-high 24 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Sacramento Kings to a 114–109 comeback victory over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night.
Carter scored 13 straight points down the stretch as the Kings erased a 20-point deficit and overcame a 10-point hole entering the final period. Maxime Raynaud capped the comeback with an and-1 jumper with 16 seconds remaining. Raynaud finished with an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double, marking the 15th of his rookie season. Russell Westbrook contributed 16 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, while DeMar DeRozan and Nique Clifford each added 12 points. Sacramento shot 46% from the field and 35% from 3-point range, with Carter going 9-of-13 overall and 3-of-4 from deep.
Indiana led 59–42 at halftime and got 24 first-half points from Aaron Nesmith, who led all scorers with 29. Obi Toppin added 17 points and five rebounds, and Kam Jones had 14 points and nine assists. The Pacers shot 41% from the field and 30% from beyond the arc but couldn’t hold off Sacramento’s late surge, giving the team its 10th straight loss—the NBA’s longest active skid.
Sacramento improved after dropping their last three matchups with Indiana, including a 116–105 defeat on Dec. 8. The Pacers were without Pascal Siakam (right knee sprain) and Andrew Nembhard (back and neck soreness), their first- and third-leading scorers, respectively.
