Jalen Brunson recorded 26 points and 10 assists, Karl-Anthony Towns added 21 points and 12 rebounds, and the New York Knicks defeated the Toronto Raptors 111-95 on Wednesday night for their fifth win in six games.
Fresh off snapping San Antonio’s 11-game winning streak on Sunday, New York extended its dominance over Toronto, pushing its win streak in the series to 12. The Raptors haven’t beaten the Knicks since Jan. 22, 2023.
At 40-22, the Knicks became the third Eastern Conference team to reach 40 victories, joining Detroit and Boston. OG Anunoby scored 15 points against his former team, while Landry Shamet and Josh Hart each had 12. Mikal Bridges contributed 11 as New York’s depth again proved pivotal.
Brandon Ingram led Toronto with 31 points, including 16 in the first quarter, when he scored one more point than the rest of the Raptors combined. RJ Barrett added 20, Scottie Barnes had 14 and Immanuel Quickley finished with 13 points and 12 assists. Toronto dropped its fourth straight at home and fell to 4-10 against Atlantic Division opponents.
The Raptors led 25-15 midway through the opening quarter, but New York responded and took a 68-58 advantage into halftime. Toronto hit its first three 3-point attempts but shot just 5-for-25 from beyond the arc the rest of the way.
Both teams were loose with the ball. The Knicks committed 17 turnovers that led to 22 Toronto points, while the Raptors had 15 miscues resulting in 17 New York points. The difference came from the benches, where the Knicks’ reserves outscored Toronto’s 26-8.
Toronto fell to 35-26 and suffered its 24th loss when allowing 110 points or more.
