The Milwaukee Bucks are adding scoring depth following the trade deadline. Guard Cam Thomas, recently released by the Brooklyn Nets, has agreed to join the Bucks, ESPN reports.
Thomas, 24, spent his entire NBA career with the Nets after being selected 27th overall out of LSU in the 2021 draft. This season, he averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 24 games while logging 24.3 minutes per contest. His season was interrupted by a left hamstring strain that sidelined him for about seven weeks before he returned on Dec. 27.
Injury issues have been a recurring theme for Thomas. Last season, he played just 25 games due to the same hamstring problem, although he averaged 24 points per game when on the floor. In 2023-24, he appeared in 66 games and averaged 22.5 points.
Thomas, a 6-foot-3 guard, is shooting a career-low 39.9% this season, including 32.5% from three-point range. Over 239 career games with 88 starts, he has a 43.5% shooting mark overall and 34.3% from deep, making him a proven scoring option for Milwaukee as they look to bolster their bench.
