Cade Cunningham scored 28 points and Paul Reed poured in 16 of his 22 points in the first quarter as the Detroit Pistons defeated the Toronto Raptors 113-95 on Wednesday night in the final game before the All-Star break.

Detroit, which leads the Eastern Conference, won for the sixth time in seven games despite playing without suspended centers Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren. Both began serving suspensions earlier in the day for their roles in Monday’s altercation in Charlotte.

The Pistons never trailed and extended their winning streak over Toronto to seven games. Detroit also improved to 18-7 on the road.

Reed, making his seventh start, set the tone early by opening the scoring with a 3-pointer and connecting on all seven of his shots in a dominant first quarter. Cunningham added seven rebounds and nine assists while matching a season high with six 3-pointers on 11 attempts.

Duncan Robinson contributed 13 points and Tobias Harris added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Detroit controlled the interior, outscoring Toronto 50-34 in the paint and winning the rebounding battle 46-35.

Immanuel Quickley led the Raptors with 18 points, while Scottie Barnes scored 17. RJ Barrett added 16 points and Brandon Ingram had 13. Jakob Poeltl returned after missing 24 games with a sore lower back, finishing with nine points and six rebounds in 20 minutes.
