Jalen Duren scored 26 points on an efficient 9-of-10 shooting night, and Cade Cunningham added 21 points and 15 assists as the Detroit Pistons snapped a season-worst four-game losing streak with a dominant 138–100 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.
Detroit controlled the game from the start and never trailed. Duncan Robinson contributed 15 points and Marcus Sasser added 14 for the Eastern Conference-leading Pistons, who bounced back emphatically after a frustrating stretch.
Michael Porter Jr. led Brooklyn with 19 points, while Jalen Wilson scored 14 as the Nets saw their two-game winning streak come to an end.
Part of Detroit’s recent skid included an improbable loss to Brooklyn on Saturday, when the Pistons blew a 23-point lead midway through the third quarter to hand the Nets their first win after a 10-game losing streak. Cunningham, who did not play in that matchup, made sure the rematch unfolded differently.
Cunningham and Duren combined for 21 points in the opening quarter as Detroit shot 57% from the field and 45% from beyond the arc to take a 38–27 lead.
The Pistons then blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring the Nets 35–13 to carry a commanding 73–40 advantage into halftime.
Detroit never let up, finishing the night shooting 56% from the field and an even 50% from 3-point range, hitting 16 of 32 attempts.
Up next: The Pistons return home Thursday to host the Philadelphia 76ers, while the Nets travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks the same night.
