Victor Wembanyama dominated with 28 points and 15 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs rolled past the Sacramento Kings 139-122 on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to eight games and completing a two-game sweep in Austin.
Wembanyama filled the stat sheet with six assists and four blocks, setting the tone early as San Antonio scored the game’s first 11 points. The 7-foot-4 star swatted three shots in the opening 90 seconds to spark the fast start.
De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle and Keldon Johnson each added 18 points for the Spurs, who broke the game open late in the third quarter. After Sacramento cut the deficit to one with under five minutes left in the period, Wembanyama answered with a 3-pointer and assisted on another by Harrison Barnes in the final minute of the quarter to send San Antonio into the fourth with a 105-94 lead.
The Spurs opened the final period with a 12-0 surge, capped by interior buckets from Fox and Wembanyama, and pushed the advantage to as many as 28.
Sacramento, playing without injured stars Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine following season-ending surgeries, dropped a franchise-record 16th straight game. Keegan Murray and DeMar DeRozan led the Kings with 20 points apiece, while Malik Monk added 19.
Rookie Maxime Raynaud contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds, including seven offensive boards that helped Sacramento stay competitive through three quarters. But San Antonio’s late push proved decisive.
