RJ Barrett scored 27 points and Sandro Mamukelashvili added 23 as the Toronto Raptors rolled past the Utah Jazz 143-127 on Monday night.
Toronto snapped a two-game skid in emphatic fashion, using a dominant second half to pull away while maintaining its hold on fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Ja’Kobe Walter contributed 21 points, while Scottie Barnes filled the stat sheet with 20 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds in a well-rounded performance.
The game turned in the third quarter.
After a competitive first half, the Raptors erupted for 49 points in the third, outscoring Utah 49-30 to build a commanding 29-point lead. Barrett and Walter led the charge as Toronto caught fire offensively, finishing the night shooting 61% from the field and a scorching 54% from three-point range (20-of-37).
Walter was especially efficient, hitting 6-of-8 from deep, while Barrett went 10-of-15 overall and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, adding six assists without a turnover in just 25 minutes.
Jamal Shead orchestrated the offense with 15 assists, and Jamison Battle added 17 points off the bench. Gradey Dick chipped in 13.
For Utah, rookie Ace Bailey delivered a standout performance with 37 points, while Brice Sensabaugh scored 24 off the bench. Still, the Jazz couldn’t keep pace and have now lost six of their last seven games.
The night also marked the season debut of Markelle Fultz, who signed a 10-day contract earlier in the day. The former No. 1 overall pick finished with two points and five assists in 16 minutes off the bench.
