Scottie Barnes scored 14 of his 23 points in a dominant third quarter as the Toronto Raptors pulled away to beat the Sacramento Kings 122-109 on Wednesday night.
Barnes finished 8-for-17 from the field and stuffed the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven assists and four steals, posting his season-high fifth straight game with at least 22 points. Brandon Ingram also scored 23 points for Toronto, which erupted for a 43-21 advantage in the third quarter to take control. Sandro Mamukelashvili added 22 points and nine rebounds, and Immanuel Quickley chipped in 18.
Toronto earned its first win in Sacramento since Jan. 25, 2023, overcoming an uneven offensive start a day after shooting 59% and tying a season high with 21 3-pointers in a win over Golden State.
The Raptors squandered a nine-point lead in the opening quarter and trailed by nine at halftime before Barnes caught fire. He made five of six shots in the third quarter, sparking Toronto’s surge as the Raptors flipped the game and built a comfortable cushion.
Russell Westbrook led the Kings with 23 points, while Zach LaVine finished with 19 points and five assists. Malik Monk scored 17 for Sacramento, which has dropped three straight games following a season-high four-game winning streak.
The Kings were without Domantas Sabonis, who was rested after playing three consecutive games following a 27-game absence due to a left knee injury.
Sacramento briefly seized momentum early, rallying from a nine-point deficit to take a 30-26 lead at the end of the first quarter on Monk’s banked-in 3-pointer at the buzzer. Dennis Schroder scored seven points in the second quarter as the Kings extended their lead to 61-52 at halftime, but Toronto’s third-quarter burst proved decisive.
