Anthony Edwards took over when it mattered most, scoring 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter as the Minnesota Timberwolves erased an 18-point deficit to stun the Toronto Raptors 128–126 on Wednesday night.

The comeback marked Minnesota’s first win in Toronto since Jan. 21, 2004. Their only other road victory in the series came Feb. 14, 2021, when the Raptors were temporarily based in Tampa during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bones Hyland added 20 points off the bench, while Jaden McDaniels scored 19. Naz Reid and Julius Randle each finished with 17, and Donte DiVincenzo chipped in 15 as the Timberwolves won for the fifth time in six games. Rudy Gobert contributed 10 points and 12 rebounds as Minnesota improved to 14–5 against Eastern Conference opponents.

Toronto appeared in control late, leading 104–94 after three quarters and by as many as 18 earlier in the second half. But Edwards sparked the rally, attacking the rim repeatedly before giving Minnesota its first lead since early in the second quarter on a driving layup with 2:26 remaining to make it 118–117.

Edwards struggled from deep, going 1 for 8 from 3-point range, but was dominant inside the arc, shooting 10 for 15, and went 7 for 10 at the free-throw line.

The Raptors helped fuel the comeback by committing seven of their 13 turnovers in the fourth quarter, which Minnesota converted into 11 points.

Brandon Ingram led Toronto with 25 points, while Immanuel Quickley had 23 and Scottie Barnes added 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ingram buried a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but it wasn’t enough as Toronto lost for the fourth time in its last five home games. Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 14 points, and RJ Barrett and Collin Murray-Boyles each had 13.

Toronto was without guard Ochai Agbaji in its final game before Thursday afternoon’s trade deadline.
