The Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) held off the Baltimore Ravens 27-22 on Sunday, thanks to Aaron Rodgers’ strong performance and a pair of critical replay reversals that favored Pittsburgh late in the game. The win gives the Steelers sole possession of first place in the AFC North and extends their recent momentum under Mike Tomlin.
Rodgers threw for 284 yards and a touchdown while also running in a score, delivering arguably his best outing in a Steelers uniform. The Ravens (6-7), who had clawed back in the standings despite a 1-5 start, saw a potential game-tying touchdown with 2:43 remaining overturned on replay, sealing the victory for Pittsburgh.
The first pivotal review came when Rodgers batted his own pass into a crowd. Initially ruled an interception, the play was overturned after replay showed Rodgers had control of the ball and was down by contact before losing it. Later, Ravens receiver Isaiah Likely appeared to score in the end zone, but Steelers corner Joey Porter Jr. knocked the ball loose before Likely could complete a third step. The touchdown was reversed, and Baltimore ultimately turned it over on downs.
Rodgers connected on multiple deep passes, including a 52-yard throw to DK Metcalf on Pittsburgh’s first play, which set up his 1-yard rushing touchdown, his first since 2022. He added a 31-yard pass to Calvin Austin III and another 38-yard scoring connection to Jaylen Warren, giving the Steelers a 27-16 cushion. Despite a 56-yard run by Keaton Mitchell and a late Lamar Jackson touchdown pass to Likely, the Ravens never closed the gap.
Jackson finished with 219 passing yards, 43 rushing yards, and a touchdown, but was intercepted by his cousin James Pierre in the first half. Baltimore dominated on the ground, outrushing Pittsburgh 217-34, the largest rushing advantage by a losing team since 2022, but the Ravens couldn’t convert it into enough points.
Pittsburgh led 17-9 at halftime, with Rodgers’ passing and Kenneth Gainwell’s 6-yard touchdown run boosting the lead. The Steelers’ defense and timely replay reviews prevented Baltimore from completing its comeback.
