The Buffalo Bills are bringing back quarterback Kyle Allen, agreeing to terms on a two-year deal worth $4.1 million that could reach $6.1 million with incentives, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
Allen previously served as the backup to Josh Allen during the 2023 season in Buffalo. The Bills were in need of a veteran No. 2 quarterback after Mitchell Trubisky agreed earlier Monday to a two-year contract with the Tennessee Titans.
The 28-year-old Allen spent last season backing up Jared Goff with the Detroit Lions after serving as a reserve for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. Over his career, Allen has appeared in 34 games with 19 starts.
Buffalo also re-signed quarterback Shane Buechele to a one-year deal earlier this offseason, adding depth behind Josh Allen, who owns the longest active starting streak among NFL quarterbacks and has not missed a start since his rookie season.
