The Cleveland Browns have made their pick for head coach, turning to veteran offensive strategist Todd Monken. The 59-year-old spent the last three seasons as offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens under John Harbaugh, and he now takes on his first NFL head-coaching role.
Monken has previous ties to the Browns, having served as the team’s offensive coordinator in 2019 under Freddie Kitchens. Before his NFL coaching career, he also led Southern Mississippi as head coach from 2013 to 2015.
Cleveland parted ways with Kevin Stefanski on January 5 after a disappointing 5-12 season in his sixth year at the helm. The Browns are hoping Monken’s experience calling plays at the highest level can help them rebound and return to contention.
With Monken at the helm, the Browns are banking on his offensive acumen and familiarity with the franchise to chart a new course. The team now enters the offseason with a fresh leadership team ready to tackle the next chapter.
