New Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur has made his first major staff addition, hiring Nathaniel Hackett as the team’s offensive coordinator, multiple NFL Network insiders, including Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo, reported Wednesday.
Hackett’s move to Arizona comes as a surprise, as he had been expected to join the Miami Dolphins as their quarterbacks coach. Instead, the former Broncos head coach and Jets offensive coordinator will take on a larger role in the desert, leading the Cardinals’ offense under LaFleur.
