The Vikings are making a significant change at the top of their football operations.
Minnesota has dismissed general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah after four seasons, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday, a move the team later confirmed in an official announcement.
In a statement, owners Mark and Zygi Wilf said the decision followed weeks of internal evaluations at the conclusion of the season.
“After our annual end-of-season organizational meetings and careful consideration, we determined that moving forward with new leadership of our football operations is in the best interest of the team,” the Wilfs said. “We appreciate Kwesi’s dedication and contributions over the past four years and wish him and his family well.”
Executive vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski will assume oversight of the team’s football operations on an interim basis through the 2026 NFL Draft. The Wilfs indicated the organization will begin a full search for a new general manager after that point.
The move comes as a surprise given that Minnesota extended Adofo-Mensah’s contract in May 2025. Less than a year later, he exits following a 9-8 season that did not meet expectations during quarterback J.J. McCarthy’s first year as the starter.
Adofo-Mensah leaves the Vikings with a 43-25 overall record. Under his leadership, Minnesota reached the playoffs twice, though both appearances ended in Wild Card Round losses.
