Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Wednesday night in Ohio on weapons-related charges, according to records from the Lakewood (Ohio) Police Department.
Lattimore was charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, a felony offense, as well as carrying concealed weapons, per police records. The arrest occurred at approximately 6:14 p.m. ET in the 11700 block of Clifton Boulevard in Lakewood, about four miles west of downtown Cleveland. Lattimore is a Cleveland native.
The Commanders acknowledged the arrest in a statement, saying, “We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We are in communication with the NFL League Office and have no further comment at this time.”
The 29-year-old Lattimore recently completed his ninth NFL season. In his first full year with Washington, he started all nine games in which he appeared, recording 27 tackles, seven passes defensed, a fumble recovery and one interception. His season was cut short when he suffered a torn ACL in the Commanders’ Week 9 game, sidelining him for the remainder of the year.
Lattimore was acquired from the New Orleans Saints in a midseason trade during the 2024 campaign. He has one year remaining on his contract with Washington, though none of his remaining salary is guaranteed.
