Miami has its newest head coach.
The Dolphins have hired former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as its newest head coach, succeeding Mike McDaniel.
Hafley spent the last two seasons calling the Packers defense - leading Green Bay to back-to-back postseason appearances. He finished his stint with the Packers recording a 9-7-1 record in 2025, when Green Bay ranked 9th in yards allowed per game, 6th in yards per play and 8th in points allowed per game.
He had previous head coaching experience. He was at the helm of Boston College for four seasons where he recorded a 22-26 record over four seasons before departing for Green Bay. Now Hafley has a new challenge: return the Dolphins to the dominant franchise they once were.
Miami has not won a playoff game since 2000, and McDaniel led the Dolphins to a 15-19 record over the last two seasons. Hafley interviewed for the position on Monday, just over a week after the Packers season came to a close after a 31-27 loss to the Chicago Bears in the 2026 Wild Card round.
