The Baltimore Ravens moved quickly to address their pass rush, agreeing to sign edge rusher Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million contract, according to reports Wednesday.

The deal can reach $120 million with incentives and includes $60 million fully guaranteed. Incentives in the first two years could raise the guaranteed portion to $64 million.

The move comes less than a day after the Baltimore Ravens backed out of a reported trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for star pass rusher Maxx Crosby. Baltimore had been prepared to send two first-round picks to acquire Crosby before concerns over his medical evaluation led the team to withdraw from the deal.

While the decision drew criticism, the Ravens still landed a proven edge rusher in Hendrickson, who has been one of the league’s most productive pass rushers in recent seasons.

Since 2023, Hendrickson has recorded 39 sacks, the third-most in the NFL during that span. He led the league with 35 sacks across the 2023 and 2024 seasons and became one of just five players in league history to post at least 17 sacks in consecutive years.

Baltimore’s defense, coordinated by Jesse Minter, lacked a consistent one-on-one pass rusher last season. Hendrickson’s ability to win off the edge should help generate pressure without the need for additional blitzers, allowing the Ravens to maintain more complex coverages.

The four-time Pro Bowler spent the past several seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he had been seeking a long-term extension. The Bengals never finalized a new multiyear deal, and Hendrickson played just seven games in 2025 because of a core muscle injury that required surgery.

Despite being 31 and coming off that injury, the Ravens were willing to invest heavily in Hendrickson—especially since the move didn’t require giving up the draft capital that a Crosby trade would have cost.

Hendrickson will remain in the AFC North and could face former teammate Joe Burrow twice during the 2026 season.

His $28 million average annual salary ranks just below that of Brian Burns of the New York Giants, placing Hendrickson among the highest-paid edge rushers in the league.
