Brock Purdy

The 49ers are heavily reliant on the precision of quarterback Brock Purdy, whose passing efficiency drastically declines under blitz pressure. San Francisco’s offense ranks first in the league against standard coverage but drops to 24th when opponents blitz.

With Nick Bosa out and Fred Warner likely sidelined, their ability to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks is limited, which could leave Purdy with a clean pocket and more opportunities to pick apart defenses. The Niners’ success will hinge on balanced play-calling and sustaining long drives to keep the defense rested.

San Francisco’s running game has been solid but inconsistent. Playoff opponents are likely to key in on containing Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, forcing Purdy into longer throws. The offensive line’s health and efficiency will be crucial in creating lanes for the run game and providing protection against scrambling quarterbacks.

Defensively, the 49ers can generate turnovers and pressure when fully healthy. Their ability to contain quarterback mobility and limit explosive plays will be tested without Bosa and Warner. If San Francisco can execute a disciplined scheme and capitalize on mistakes, they have the talent to advance, but the margin for error is narrow against dynamic offenses.
