Seattle Seahawks

The celebration had barely begun when Klint Kubiak finally let the - well known - secret slip.

Moments after the Seattle Seahawks closed out a 29–13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, the team’s offensive coordinator confirmed what had been widely expected for weeks: his next stop is Las Vegas. After spending Super Bowl week deflecting questions and insisting his attention was fully on delivering another Lombardi Trophy to Seattle, Kubiak acknowledged the move in an on-field conversation with NFL Network’s Stacey Dales.

“You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas, so I’m fired up about it,” Kubiak said, the weight of the moment clearly lifted. When pressed on whether that meant taking over as head coach of the Raiders, his answer was immediate and emphatic. “Hell yeah, of course I’m going.”

The confirmation came after days of deliberate silence. Throughout the buildup to the Super Bowl, Kubiak refused to engage with reports linking him to the Raiders’ vacancy, choosing instead to keep his focus on Seattle’s title run. Only after the Seahawks had secured their second championship did the future become fair game.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider all but acknowledged the impending move the following day, speaking openly about Kubiak’s role in the team’s success. Head coach Mike Macdonald echoed that sentiment, praising his coordinator while recognizing that change is now imminent.

“I’m really happy for Klint. Without him, we wouldn’t be here,” Macdonald said on NFL GameDay Final. “Happy for Klint, he’s a world champ, and we’ll see what happens in the next couple days.”

For Kubiak, the moment carried a deeper sense of symmetry. Super Bowl LX was played at Levi’s Stadium, the same venue where his father, Gary Kubiak, won a championship with the Denver Broncos a decade earlier. On the same field, Klint claimed his first Super Bowl ring — and, almost immediately after, the opportunity to lead his own franchise.

With Seattle’s title secured and the confetti cleared, Kubiak’s attention now turns south, toward a new chapter in Las Vegas that begins with the credibility of a Super Bowl champion and the confidence of a coach ready for his next step.
